PARROTS OF FLORIDA

Through out this site, we'll be learning together, about Florida's Parrot populations.

We'll be looking at what kinds of Parrots are wild in Florida, and where the populations are.

Maybe you have had a Parrot sighting in Florida.

Please share it with us. You can share by clicking "COMMENTS" on any post.

Some visitors have graced us with more than one photo. Additional pictures can be found in the left column

You may notice, throughout this site, that I mention the Quaker Parrot/Monk Parrakeet repeatedly. Well, I may be partial to one species of Parrot, but I am amazed by them all!!

Please share your Wild Parrot Pics, in Fl., no matter the species.

Wild Quaker Parrots (Monk Parakeets) In SE Fl.

These pics were taken in N. Miami, Hollywood, Dania Beach, Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, and Boca Raton.

In my travels, I ran into "the ball-n-chain".

I have many more pics to share, but I'm saving "web space" for YOUR pics. If you have any Fl. Parrot Sitings, please share!!!

Daria, of Coral Gables sent a bunch of pics of her backyard. (mostly, B&Gs)

"There are 28 blue and golds in this feral
flock in S. Miami and 9 to eleven show up at my feeder everyday."

 Wait a minute, That's Not A Parrot!!!

That's not a Parrot either!!!!!

Thank you Daria, great pics.

St. Pete Parrots

These pictures of Quaker parrots were taken downtown St. Petersburg. We followed the noise to a birdfeeder in front of a house.

Ronsig sent more pics from St. Petersburg, Florida. "These Nandays were sitting on power lines to wait their turn at a backyard bird feeder. Some Quakers were there as well."

Thank you ronsig. Great pics!!

Sigrid got some great shots of Nanday Conures.....

"I saw these nanday parrots up high on a tree by the pier in Safety Harbour. We go there often to watch manatees but never saw the birds there again."

Thank you Sigrid.
